I'm Marko Savran, a web analyst based in Warsaw. I've spent more than ten years in SEO and web analytics, and these days I run every tool I write about on my own servers: Matomo, Plausible Community Edition, Umami, GoatCounter and GoAccess, usually on a 2 to 4 GB VPS. On Open Source Analytics I publish step-by-step installs with tested configs, side-by-side tests where one log file goes through several analyzers, and plain notes on what each setup costs to keep running.

goatcounter one go binary
goaccess reads nginx access logs
